Requirements
All employees must:
1. pass a state required background search of the Central Registry of Reported
Cases of Child Abuse or neglect.
2. pass the state required Background and Criminal History searches.
3. have a notarized state required Affidavit For Applicants form.
4. pass a TB test.
5. be at least 18 years of age for staff and be at least 21 years of age (for director).
6. have Pre-Service Training if they have not worked in a licensed center for
at least 6 months.
7. pass a drug test.
8. have a high school diploma or GED.

Additional requirements for teachers:
CPR and First Aid classes. 
Get to know and understand the Minimum Standards for a licensed day care
center, the center's rules and policies, and your job description.
You must be flexible.
Additional requirements for receptionist:
Typing, computer, organization, telephone, communication, and people skills.
Bilingual (Spanish) would be useful but not necessary.
The Cook: Classes in children’s nutrition and sanitation or previous employment
in food preparation would be useful. You must take a one day class given by the
Health Dept.

The Director:
A. Get to know and understand the minimum standards for a licensed day care center.
The standards can be found at www.tdprs.state.tx.us
B. The director must have a current Licensing Director Certificate issued to by the
state of Texas.

Benefits do not include free or discounted child-care for
employees.  Employee's children are not to be enrolled
at TCO.

The Law requires a specific child to staff ratio. Therefore, all children in the cen-
ter, outside play areas, or our company vehicles, must be enrolled students,
having proper documentation, and making tuition payments in full.

No children, without the proper documentation, can legally be in attendance in the
center, outside play areas, or our company vehicles during hours of operation.

By strictly adhering to the above requirements for employees with children, we will
have a stronger and more secure company.
